Subject description: 28 April 2007 FECRIS conference

I attended the 28 April 2007 FECRIS conference in Hamburg, at the invitation of Ursula Caberta, and I even spoke very briefly amongst the long list of esteemed guest speakers.

My overall impression is that there is a whole level of intelligent constructive response to the downsides of the new religious movements (cults, psycho-cults, non-traditional new religious groups, whatever they are labelled) .

I met media, police officials, and dozens of decades long intelligent observers of these groups, as well as heads of EU and eastern EU groups that have an interest in these modern non-traditional cult/sect/religions.

The conference presentations were outstanding. The conference hall setting was museum quality, as are most EU buidlings. The EU conference attendees and speakers were impressive.

I will just briefly speak in posts about my experiences.

I arrived two days before the conference, and settled into Hamburg.

I met esteemed Russian academic Prof Alexander Dvorkin, who I had the honor to spend a short time with before the conference, strolling around beautiful Hamburg in very agreeable spring weather. We walked over to the Hamburg Org, and I detailed insider information I knew about the Hamburg Org and its history and operation, that I am aware of. The Hamburg, Div 6 Secretary person came outside to greet us and we exchanged some pleasantries.

Later on Saturday , the day of the conference, Alexander acted as translator while I was interviewed for an eastern Russian radio broadcast, and I spoke of the similarities in the RPF to my memories of reading Alexander Soltzenitzen's "Gulag Archipeligo" and also Natan Sharansky's experiences under KGB confinement. (Were Rich Gilbert, a good guy, who was my RPF auditor to have properly kept worksheets of all my RPF sessions, those worksheets would contain mention of Soltzenitzen and Sharansky, but I fear Rich out of compassion kept abbreviated and very messily written worksheets of my 1997 auditing that he did on me (my sidenote opinion is that auditors who kept messy and extremely short worksheets in general cared more about their pcs), where during my 1997 RPF "routing out" auditing that Rich was doing on me, I freely told Rich how I felt the Happy Valley RPF confinement and predicaments compared to those Russian writers' gulag experiences.) The Russians are correctly concerned, if Russia Scientology expands up to the size that an Advanced Organization forms in Russia someday, that that will bring in increased numbers of Sea Org members, who I carefully explained in my interview, that this will mean that potentially there might be a need for a Russian RPF. I made it clear the numbers of Sea Org members in Russia is small, probably 5 or so in Moscow, and any assignments to the RPF would mean the Sea Org members would go to the RPF in Copenhagen, or Saint Hill, or Clearwater or to LA, to do the RPF, if that was deemed necessary, today. The Russians are extremely realistic about the future downsides of what increased establishement of Scientology's organizations would mean for Russia, and I detailed in great detail all I could about the Sea Org's command structure, personnel numbers in EU, and how things realistically would evolve, IF Scientology expands per Scientology's own freely stated plans for Russia.

In otherwords there won't be RPFs in Russia coming anytime soon, but only if a Russian Advanced Org were to form, and even then, Sea Org members needing to do the RPF might likely be sent out of Russia to Denmark, or the UK or the US, to do the RPF, if they need to do it.

I found the Russians, like all EU people I had discussions with, extremely understanding and cautious and polite, and extremely realistic in their perceptions of the actual dangerous aspects to the new religious movements/cults/sects/psycho-cults (whatever you want to call these groups).

Talking with Alexander Dvorkin was a joy, he is such a well spoken intelligent and realistic individual.

I will post further, in the weeks to come, on the conference, and the new range of people I met.

This was my first "cult" conference, and it was a major learning experience. I never met so many intelligent well spoken people. Meeting these EU cult/sect group experts incredibly widened and corrected my prior incorrectly formed images that I had of these people due to my years of only seeing Scientology (OSA writers') portrayal of these cult/sect interested studiers.

In general, my Scientology PR machine propaganda viewpoint of these EU cult/sect studiers and concerned officials has been now replaced with my own firsthand experiences with meeting these dozens of individuals, and hearing their intelligent views personally.

EU cities (Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Paris) are stunning in their beauty, and the average EU citizens I met on the streets, trains and airports, were really a joy also.

I was very impressed, there is much to comment.

Thankyou Rick Ross!

I read your rebuttal and I am so glad you continue to remind people of your rebuttal site page above.

I believe that unfortunately it should also be stated that they are STUCK in their mindless counter-tactics, since that is the only tactics Hubbard has allowed of them.

I believe it might be fruitful to include somewhere, in relevant sites, the actual snippets of Hubbard's doctrines that show WHY the Scientology movement officials (Office of Special Affairs International, 6331 Hollywood Blvd, LA, CA, 90027, 323-960-3500) are stuck in this course of smearing ad hominem their perceived enemies, and that they have no option to stop these smearing ad hominem tactics.

People shouldn't fear Scientology's irreligious disgraceful methods, and people ought to be informed of all this so those willing to stand up, know that the world recognizes the predicament Hubbard has put the Scientologists (Office of Special Affairs) in.

I see it as a mixture of Catch 22 and the Milgram scenario:
http://www.age-of-the-sage.org/psychology/milgram_perils_authority_19...

Scientology is unchanging on their ad hominem smearing due to Hubbard's unchallengable doctrines staffers (Office of Special Affairs) must execute. It is their duty.

Office of Special Affairs live off of Hubbard's orders/doctrines, where he places inflated wishful thinking and inspirational pronouncements of their grand roles in protecting Scientology's supposedly universe salvaging "technology" (Hubbard's ideas which he's elevated through his sci-fi Flash Gorden, cowboy western adventure style, damn the rules, get the "show" on the road, save the universe from it's billions years long downward trend, due to the psychiatrists in the psychiatrists' earlier incarnations throughout the galaxies).

The detailed actual beliefs of Hubbard, translated into Scientology doctrine, executed by Office of Special Affairs, against you, against the others laughably listed on the Religious Freedom Watch, the truth of Hubbard's personal actual beliefs put into correct context the ad hominem smearing.

It is clear, it is his reaction to the world's reaction to his actual ideas. It's just a long duration (Hubbard's lifetime in length), his tit for the world's tat, against him.

Office of Special Affairs, like any of the Sea Org staffers, are playing roles in Hubbard's idea inspired Scientology created groups to protect his legacy of ideas about himself and the universe. Hubbard depicted Scientology as the only group that is working to reverse the dwindling spiral of the whole universe.

Scientology is caught up, obligated now, in carrying out Hubbard's megalomania, and his pulp-fiction galactic salvaging inspirational goals, versus you and the others, who are incarnations of the evil psychs (or the dupes) in our universe's past.

The insider details of what Hubbard actually believed, tells the tale in full.

Scientology's bureacratic and cheaply organized smearing ad homimen is essentially Hubbard's reaction to the rejection of his outlandish ideas.

Thanks for what you do Rick Ross! And thanks again for your public rebuttal!

I read it and I appreciate you taking the time to challenge Scientology's harmful nature.

Excellent! Thanks Arnie.

I found the references to "moles" quite interesting. In fact, there may be one close to the BBC team- I think that trying to infiltrate people's lives is a big part of their attempts to destroy critics and enemies of $cientology.

Dear Donna, and all!

The mole on the BBC story upcoming, was my fault, and I will detail the whole thing as soon as the show airs.

BBC might include mention of the mole handwork, so I don't want to coup the show, but after it airs, I will detail my own ignorance and naivity that allowed me to be taken in by the ex Sea Org member who portrayed himself (with his wife playing a sideline role, she being ex GO, ex spy for OSA in years past already), when the show airs.

Covert operations still go on, unfortunately, and that is because of Ron.

Ron's policy still guides them, and Ron didn't leave the option for them to retire his policy, not until the outside world changes (from LRH/Scientology's viewpoint), and since society and our world isn't likely to change in the world's objections to LRH's bad ideas, it looks like Scienotlogists (OSA Int in particular), are thus stuck with LRH's worst policies as their responsiblity.

This is just all live, advanced applications of human frailties that outside smarter people in the world all recognize, but which unfortunately for those under the blanket of LRH's prolific writings, they cannot see nor correct themselves from LRH's directions.

Ideas guide people into the most disgraceful tactics against one another.

Hubbard's ideas guide them, so the moles will keep on trying, keep on being employed.

I have made my list of the OSA volunteers in the past, and once the BBC show airs, I'll update my list, so all ex Sea Org members are on the lookout for the types of behavior the moles have been using in recent years, at least the moles I've encountered.

Post subject: The mole on the BBC story upcoming, was my fault, and I will detail the whole thing .....

A couple months ago, a former FEBC student who I helped train back in 1977-78, then a young man from New Zealand, a very nice person, normal good person, called me a couple months ago, 2007.

This guy had also been a staffer at Gold for a short time. His wife was ex GO, and she had worked at Int for even longer, years. She'd been CO HU (Household Unit) at Int.

His wife has infiltrated ex Sea Org member parties in the past, and was under suspicion, I found out later, from other ex Sea Org members, for her too many "outpoints" in her reactions, at these parties. She's been under suspicion as a spy for years already.

When the husband, the former FEBC student from New Zealand nice guy, contacted me, he was overly questioning, just a little too pushy, but me being me, I put it aside.

The suspicion game, the paranoia game, I operate like I don't care. If OSA wants to employ "credible" volunteers to smooze into the parties and chat sites and do the softer covert intell gathering, let them.

Anyways, the husband ex FEBC questioned what media were doing what, I just frankly told him, and hooked him up with the BBC. My view is whatever Scn does, if what they do is unethical, it will eventually backfire on them.

Later, like 4 weeks later, the BBC calls me and says this guy was just way too overt in his behavior as a church spy, and the details are he at first presented himself to them like he knew a former Int staffer who wanted to speak to the BBC about Int history. But then the lady backed out from speaking, and then the husband backs out from speaking also.

Yet the husband, in a moment of unprofessional afterthought almost, just out of the blue calls the BBC asking to hear what the BBC is gonna do on the show, just way too obvious in his questioning of the BBC, which they wanted to alert me to, and in turn I alerted all my contacts who I know are in contact with this ex FEBC ex Int staffer and his wife, so that the legitimate speaking people, the ones who aren't OSA spies, who are truly wishing to somehow get the history of the Sea Org's upper ranks into the public domain, that those legitimate speaker-outers know who I believe to be the OSA spies.

Anyways, here's my pretty short list of all the people in my opinion who have done what they think is correct, whatever, but I believe they've been working (even if extremely briefly) in cahoots with OSA, in recent years (last 3 years), who've intersected somehow in my life on the subject of Scientology:

Anna Stilo Paddock
Felipe Avilla
Wolfe Frank
Ken Shapiro
Miles Mellor
Mary Chris Hines
Joe Caneen
and the latest, the New Zealand nice person, and his wife:
Tony Sherriff
Bridget Sherriff

I don't think people should worry. I recommend ex Scientologists (and if possible even existing Scientologists) concentrate on becoming normal citizens, and learn how normal citizens act. Then by contrast any of Scientology's anti-normal-citizens-like underhanded and disgraceful tactics by contrast will stick out and hopefully cease.

The good in individual Scientologists I recognize, like I recognize the good in any people anywhere, and even though these above persons have participated in what I consider behavior out of step with normal citizen behavior, I know also these people above to be fine people in general.

Thanks VERY MUCH for these links!

In summary from this BBC 2007 Panorama show on Scientology, I quote John Sweeney's comments taken from the show:

"This film doesn't offer the final word on Scientology. But it shows what happens when you cahallenge their view of themselves."

and:

"...its leaders have their work cut out if they want to be hosting songs of praise anytime soon."

It is a problem in our western culture, when a group of people wish to claim they are a religion.

I think square zero is having the full writings of the founder of the proposed group claiming rights to be called a religion.

All of Hubbard's writings ought to be made public.

There are ex Scientologists still alive who with their own eyes have read Hubbard's late 1970s or early 1980s despatch where Hubbard doubted if it was correct that the Scientology movement chose being labelled a religion.

The opposing side, against being considered a religion, to me, Hubbard's own doubts about whether it was a smart move to try to be a religion, which he discussed to his aides in the late 1970s or early 1980s, it is plain from Hubbard's own writings, at this late year in the Scientology movement's history, that he considered the decision to be a religion in the US as a possible wrong decision on his part.

To judge Scientology, I think having access to Hubbard's relevant writings is square zero.

Only insiders, those who've held top positions in the Scientology bureaucracies, those who've read all Hubbard's writings, and heard or read transcripts of all his lectures, see all of Hubbard's writings and lectures. There are writings that definitely are relevant, and which should be made public.

Right now, Scientology only presents Hubbard's writings that is convenient for them to present, to serve Hubbard's pragmatic decisions.

No question Hubbard settled on Scientology's claims to being a religion, but also it is clear he had doubts about whether his decision to go the route of being a religion.

Transparency on all of Hubbard's writings is needed.

Hubbard has uttered so many behind the scenes self-serving and irreligious statements, that it is important to constantly realize that currently there is no way anyone from the outside can say with confidence that Scientology is a religion.

All of Hubbard's writings need to be made public.
